Greenville, Fountain Inn, Simpsonville, SC and surrounding areas Postpartum Doula

So nice to meet you! I am originally from the midwest and  moved to South Carolina in 2019 to live close to my first grandson. I ran my own in-home daycare business for 27 years.  All of those children became like family to me and I loved building lasting connections with them. I am thrilled to be able to use my passion for children and families here in many areas of the Upstate as a postpartum doula.   DONA International training has added to the knowledge and skills I already have from working with families and children. When you hire me to support you during the fourth trimester, I can be one component of your support system to help make that transition period a little smoother.  I serve Fountain Inn, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Laurens and all of Greenville.  I can’t wait to meet you!

My faith guides me in all that I do. I love regular family dinners with my husband and four adult children, plus dancing around the kitchen with my grandson.

We have two rescue dogs, Nova and Cosmo.  If you have pets in your home, we’re sure to be fast friends.

I’m always seeking out new adventures and places to see.

Why I became a postpartum doula

Maybe you’ve never even heard of a postpartum doula. I hadn’t either until my daughter hired a labor & delivery doula.  After being present at my grandson’s birth and talking with my daughter’s doula, I learned that there are not only birth doulas, but postpartum doulas, too. This role seemed a natural fit for me. I’ve always loved building relationships with families and helping them gain more confidence as parents. I’m at a time in my life where this opportunity fits in well with my day-to-day schedule. I can still be the “Nana” that I want to be, while also loving on other new babies and their families.

You’ve heard the phrase before: “It takes a village.”  Oh, how true this is! Whether this is your first baby or you’re adding to the pack, those first weeks can be a challenge without a support system in place. When you hire me as your postpartum doula, you can catch up on some sleep (oh, precious sleep!), enjoy a long, hot shower, get help with those never-ending tidying up tasks, and I can even prepare a meal for you while I am at your home. More than just the physical demands of parenthood, I can provide emotional support and a listening ear. With years and years of newborn care experience, I can help answer your questions and direct you to additional helpful resources.  The truth: you can’t do it all alone, and that’s ok! Let me support you during this exciting time in your life.

Growing your family is such an exciting time in your life but it can also be overwhelming! Still have questions about how a postpartum doula can help? I’d love to talk with you more!

Brenda is amazing!

I 100% recommend having her as your doula.
